STAR win Innovation Award

LD FPS I network award

We are pleased to announce that STAR Procurement won the Connected Procurement and Commissioning Innovation Award at the I-Network Awards last night.  The award submission was for STAR’s Flexible Purchasing System (FPS) Learning Disability (LD) and Autism.  This is a ground breaking procurement initiative that provides 10 localities Health and Social Care organisations an efficient ‘one-way’ approach to procure these services across Greater Manchester.  This innovative project brings together differing partners into one approach; has a person-centred, and has outcome-focused packages to supporting people with LD and Autism to be independent at home, learn new skills and connect with others.

Elizabeth McKenna, Assistant Director at STAR Procurement said, “We are delighted to win this award tonight, it shows that procurement is integral to innovation and transforming the way that we buy LD and Autism services and that team work and collaboration pays off.  This award predicates why we are all here to ensure that the citizens of GM have access to quality services and we see this as a platform and a benchmark to the way we buy services of the future.”

Tim Bryant, Senior Commissioner for the GM Commissioning Hub said “I’m immensely proud of this award and it goes part way to recognising the significant contribution of people that use care services, carers and providers in designing the system. We will be doing our best to celebrate and share this award with them.”
