CIPS Corporate Ethics Kitemark - 0721

Retaining this award demonstrates our commitment in adopting ethical values in the way we source and manage suppliers for the c.£1bn annual spend of our Partners and customers, as well as our day to day activities. It also demonstrates that we are committed to accountability and self-governance, and our staff are trained in ethical sourcing and supplier management.

STAR is a shared service with a strong set of values. We take Corporate Social Responsibility, Ethical Procurement, and Social Value very seriously and ensure those values are deeply ingrained in everything we do. We are pleased to see this recognised through our addition to the CIPS Corporate Ethical Register which reflects the way in which we handle procurement for our partners,” said Lorraine Cox, Director of STAR Procurement.

Established in 2014, STAR has saved over £20 million of taxpayer’s money when procuring a wide range of supplies and services for its Councils use and for their local communities. STAR provides a strategic procurement service for Rochdale, Stockport, Tameside, and Trafford Councils, as well as other customers. We help our partners and customers to arrange contracts for any supplies, services, or works that can’t be provided in house. STAR is central to helping our Partners develop new, innovative, & cost effective ways of delivering their services and it is involved in all stages of the procurement cycle.
