Free tendering workshops are taking place on 20th June at Stockport’s Meet the Buyer 2017

Tendering for contracts and business can be confusing and complex. Stockport Council is committed to working with local businesses, and (in partnership with STAR Procurement) will be hosting two workshops to help local companies with tips and guidance on how they can become 'bid-ready'

Workshop 1 – Using The Chest and tendering with STAR Councils

This workshop will cover:

  • Registering on The Chest and receiving alerts for new opportunities
  • Using The Chest during the tender process
  • Top tips for tendering
  • Requests for Quotation & Invitations to Tender

Workshop 2 - Social Value in the tendering & contract process

This workshop will cover:

  • The Greater Manchester Combined Authority Social Value Policy
  • Stockport, Trafford and Rochdale Councils’ individual social value priorities
  • Responding to social value questions in the tender process
  • Positioning your social value offer with STAR Council requirements
  • Delivering Social Value during the Contract phase

These 45-minute workshops will take place at Stockport Town Hall and will be repeated throughout the day.  The workshops are open to all businesses whether they have an appointment at the Meet the Buyer event or not

For further information on timings for the workshops, visit www.meetthebuyer.org.uk

To book a place, please email info@meetthebuyer.org.uk stating the workshop title and time you would like to attend

At the event, there will also be lots of opportunities for businesses to network and visit exhibitions and displays from business support organisations such as Greater Manchester Business Growth Hub, Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Small Businesses

STAR Procurement will also have a stand at the event, where information on upcoming opportunities will be available and any questions on using The Chest can be discussed.
